Layout, saw, drill, cope, grind, fit. A tube laser deletes most of that sequence and hands your fitters members that already know where they go.

The Problem
Structural work is a sequence of handoffs, and every one of them is a chance to lose a dimension. A member gets laid out by hand, sawn, carried to a drill line, carried again to be coped with a grinder, then handed to a fitter who discovers the connection doesn't close. The welding was never the bottleneck — the preparation was.
Manual layout is slow and it's where most rework starts
Hand-coped saddle joints are never twice the same
Each move between saw, drill, and grinder is handling you're paying for
Weld gaps from poor fit-up burn filler, time, and grinding
Unmarked members turn field assembly into a guessing game

What Changes
When the cut file carries the connection geometry, the fabrication moves upstream into software — and the shop floor turns into assembly.
Fish-mouth and saddle profiles are cut to the mating member, so tube-to-tube and tube-to-beam joints seat the first time.
Fastener patterns, clearance holes, and slots are placed while the member is chucked — no second trip to a drill line.
Weld preparation is part of the cut, which means a full-penetration joint doesn't begin with somebody and a grinder.
Mark each member with its drawing reference as it's cut, and a big assembly sorts itself instead of relying on paint pen.
Self-locating geometry holds a frame square without a dedicated fixture, so fitters tack instead of measure.
Gussets, base plates, connection plates, and stiffeners come off a large-format flatbed cut from the same model data.
Heavy Format
When base plates and connection plates run longer than a standard sheet, splitting the part and welding it back together is not an answer. An 8.0m × 3.0m bed cuts the whole thing.

A tube laser handles the members. A large-format flatbed handles the plate that connects them. Most structural shops eventually run both.
